Philippe Kayser grew up in Stuttgart as the son of a French woman who was enthusiastic about literature and music and a German doctor. Since the 1980s he has been active as a professional musician in various bands and projects. His first international success was with the acid jazz LP "Quelle Aventure" of his band NoSé (with the Stuttgart musician and sound engineer Tom Krüger). In the early 1990s he met Max Herre. The first joint hip-hop project Agit Jazz was born. In 1995 Max Herre and Don Philippe founded the band Maximilian and his circle of friends (later shortened to circle of friends) with the Stuttgart DJ Friction (Martin Welzer). In the same year, Stuttgart hip-hop musicians and artists founded the collective, of which Kayser is also a member. Since 2005 Kayser has lived and worked in Berlin.
